Olivia Bolah (Olivia J. Olajide Aluko, LLB, B.L., MA Law) is an author, writer, thought leader, and facilitator whose work advances public understanding and practical responses to migration, diaspora lived experience, inequality, safeguarding, and community resilience.
Raised and educated in Nigeria and now based in the United Kingdom, she bridges scholarship and lived experience—translating complex social challenges into clear, accessible ideas that support communities, practitioners, and institutions.
A trusted convener known for calm authority and inclusive leadership, Olivia designs and leads dialogue that moves beyond discussion to delivery—strengthening safeguarding responses, supporting ethical leadership, and advancing SDG-aligned outcomes centred on safety, dignity, and belonging. Her work is grounded in presentations, facilitation, and public scholarship focused on migration and diaspora, shaped by interdisciplinary research and community-facing engagement.

- Vice President, Africa Security Forum – leads on women’s safety and security, including domestic abuse awareness and community safeguarding.
- Founder/Chair, Reinvent African Diaspora Network (RADET), UK – delivers roundtables, conferences, and training on migration, diaspora studies, and socio-economic empowerment in support of SDG-aligned development.

Academic standing
Olivia was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (1992). She holds an MA in Law (Migration and Law) from Queen Mary University of London, and her scholarship examines how governance, social inclusion, and human behaviour shape the lived realities of migrants and marginalised communities across the diaspora and Sub-Saharan Africa.

- World Association for Sustainable Development (WASD) – expert writer and rapporteur, contributing to evidence-based dialogue on sustainable development, including migration and diaspora matters, human security, and social inclusion, with engagement in UN-system– linked discussions in Geneva.

Publications
Olivia is the author of Africans in the UK: Migration, Integration and Significance; Globalisation, Human Security and Social Inclusion; and Life in the Abrodi, as well as essays addressing gender inequality, migration drivers, and realising Africa’s potential. Her current works in progress extend her contribution to public scholarship on dignity, belonging, precarity, and safety.
Writing under her pen name Olivia Bolah, she continues to develop research-informed narratives and practical frameworks that strengthen agency, restore dignity, and support communities to thrive.
